Maxiokna, one of Akant's Partners, has been operating in Gostynin, Mazowieckie [Masovian Province] for 5 years. Its owners constant drive to develop their range of covering products made them introduce Akant's Screen Hema Zip into their assortment a few years ago, which has turned out to be an option that solves many of its Customers' problems.

In 2015, Ireneusz Podziński and Arkadiusz Zaremba, the owners of Maxiokna, decided to take advantage of their 15 years’ worth of experience in the window and coverings industry and open their own shop. Since the very beginning, they have focused on having a broad and comprehensive range of products.

We wanted our shop to be the go-to place for people looking for window coverings – says Arkadiusz Zaremba, co-owner of MAXIOKNA S.C., so we placed particular emphasis on expanding our range of covers so that we could offer to our Customers solutions that would be optimally tailored to their needs. We also made sure to provide our Customers with professional installation and servicing of the coverings, allowing us to obtain many regular Customers who had been looking for a trusted company.

Seeking increasingly better solutions, the owners of Maxiokna discovered Screen Hema Zip, which was being introduced onto the market by its manufacturer, Akant company, at the time.

When we learned about the properties of the screen, we thought that was the kind of covering that our product range was missing – recollects Arkadiusz Zaremba. – Many Customers who visited us were troubled by the overheating of their houses, and the solutions available to them before had not been fully able to solve that problem. However, Screen Hema Zip looked promising.

What sets apart this screen from other coverings? The special design and properties of its fabric allow it to limit heat radiation by as much as 97% and reduce solar radiation by up to 75%. This means that a pulled-down screen prevents the heat radiating through the pane from getting inside. This prevents buildings, particularly those whose large windows are exposed to the south, from overheating even on hot days.

Furthermore, the screen limits solar exposure without having to give up daylight. The selection of a transparent fabric also enables to see what is happening outside.

It is worth noting that screen Hema Zip isn't just a window covering – explains Ireneusz Podziński. – It can be easily used as a side covering of pergolas, patios and winter gardens. In addition to its thermal isolation properties, it provides excellent protection against strong wind and gives you a sense of privacy.

During one of its most recent projects, Maxiokna was challenged to cover a home patio. Its location made its high exposure to sunlight decrease the comfort of outdoor relaxation. When the sun was at its zenith, it was impossible to relax on the patio. Furthermore, the owners dreamed about an outdoor oasis cut off from the stares of any passers-by.

It was screen Hema Zip that proved to be the best solution. The clients chose the fabric Serge white S600-5-002002. The 5% opening factor characterising the fabric enabled the highest possible transparency so that even when the screen is pulled down, the owners can enjoy daylight and the view of their garden in their living room.

Screens have a great potential, which is why we constantly strive to broaden our knowledge about them – says Arkadiusz Zaremba from Maxiokna. – At the end of 2019, we obtained the Akant Academy certificate attesting our knowledge of Screen Hema Zip. The training preceding the certificate enabled us to gain information and practical skills related to screens, which greatly helped us reinforce our previous knowledge.

Maxiokna's shop is located in Gostynin, at ul. Floriańska 20. The company also sells window coverings via its online shop.
