UK Windows & Doors Group, the UK’s largest PVCu window and door manufacturer, has switched to the Yale Revolution Window Hinge for its Fully Reversible range of windows – highlighting Yale’s status as a leader in innovative window hardware that improves the lives of installers and end-users.

The move is the latest development in a longstanding relationship between the companies. As part of this, the Yale technical services team is now working onsite at UK Windows & Doors Group to provide fit and function tests, along with the necessary training, to ensure its customers gain the full benefit of the Yale Revolution Window Hinge.

Grant Evans, Director of NPI at UK Windows & Doors Group, comments: We’ve worked with Yale for years, during which we’ve built up strong cross-functional relationships. This meant it was a natural step for us to start using the Yale Revolution Window Hinge in our fully reversible windows, as we know the quality products and reliable service that Yale always deliver.

Since making the switch, sales of the range have risen sharply – which is testament to the product’s functionality and ease-of-use. It’s also a great benefit that we can configure the hinges on our site, as this gives us more flexibility to meet the different needs of our customers and takes away the time and costs associated with returns.

The Yale Revolution Window Hinge has been designed to offer maximum versatility and security. It offers the functionality of fully reversible windows, and with its unique patented dual closing function, can be switched at installation between anti-blowback and easy close functions, depending on specification and housing requirements.

To ensure the safety and security of end-users, the hinge features a unique key-lockable safety restrictor. When opening, the sash release lever must be pressed passed two restricted positions, avoiding the risk of the window being opened suddenly. A safety key locks the window in the desired position – outer ventilation, easy clean or safety position – to minimise the risk of injury from falling through the window.

David Pridmore, Key Account Manager at Yale, comments: We’ve got a great relationship with UK Windows & Doors Group, so we’re delighted to have become their hinge supplier for the fully reversible window range. As a result of using the Yale Revolution Window Hinge, the company can now promote a truly flexible window range to its customers, so it’s no surprise that sales have risen.

Thankfully, we’re able to meet this increased demand due to the fact that we manufacture the Yale Revolution Window Hinge at our UK facility in Cheltenham. This means we can always react quickly when UK Windows & Doors Group require more product, so they do not have to wait as they would if their supplies were coming from overseas.
