STAC remains committed to advancing sustainability and energy efficiency. For this reason, STAC is pleased to announce that from this year until 2035, 54% of the electricity consumed at its Padrón and Catoria complexes will come from renewable sources.

This initiative is possible thanks to the signing of a PPA (Power Purchase Agreement), which allows STAC to guarantee a stable and competitive energy supply.

PPA contracts are long-term energy purchase agreements between a renewable energy producer and a consumer company. Through them, STAC secures a sustainable energy supply, promotes the development of new renewable infrastructures, and reduces its dependence on conventional sources.

In August 2023, STAC also took a further step in its energy efficiency strategy with the installation of 808 solar panels on the roof of its headquarters in Padrón and on the adjoining warehouse where part of its production is carried out. This photovoltaic installation for self-consumption has a peak power of 440 kWp, which allows STAC to further reduce its consumption of conventional energy and move towards greater energy autonomy.

In addition to committing to the use of clean energy, STAC continues to reinforce its commitment to the circular economy and responsible production. Obtaining the UNE-EN ISO 14021 certification guarantees that its RE and RE+ recycled profiles comply with a minimum percentage of recycled material, thus ensuring a lower environmental impact.

In this line, in 2024 STAC has added two new certifications that reinforce its commitment to sustainable innovation and respect for the environment. The Cradle to Cradle certification guarantees that its products are safe, circular, and responsible in all phases of their life cycle, while the EcoVadis – Committed label recognizes its sustainability management, meeting environmental, social, and ethical criteria.

STAC understands sustainability as an integral commitment that encompasses both energy management and innovation in its products and processes. The implementation of renewable energy, along with obtaining certifications that endorse its environmental responsibility, reinforces STAC’s commitment to a more efficient and environmentally friendly production model. STAC will continue to move in this direction, integrating solutions that enable it to reduce its environmental impact and provide value to its stakeholders.
