IFT Rosenheim offers tests according to DIN / TS 18194

Technical specification DIN/TS 18194 is currently the only national test basis for classifying burglar resistance for gates. As of July 2020, it replaces the draft of DIN SPEC 18194 from October 2019.

The document specifies the requirements, test methods and classification systems for the burglar-resistant properties of gates in accordance with the product standard for gates EN 13241. Ift Rosenheim can carry out tests and product certification according to DIN / TS 18194 as part of its flexible accreditation. Based on these tests, an additional certification enables the manufacturer to be included in the KPK list „Tested and certified burglar-resistant doors / gates” of the state criminal police.

In addition to windows and doors, gates are the main targets for burglars. However, the European standards of the series EN 1627 to EN 1630 only describe requirements, tests and classifications of burglar-resistant windows and doors. The respective area of application explicitly excludes gates; these are considered to be „external terminations” according to ENV 1627. Work on an EN standard for testing and classifying burglar-resistant gates is largely suspended. German committees therefore drafted the national draft of DIN SPEC 18194 published in October 2019.

Its successor, the Technical Specification DIN/TS 18194 Gates – Burglar Resistance – Requirements, Testing and Classification, published in July 2020, takes into account the special features of gates in the area of burglar resistance. The document applies to gates that serve the safe access of goods and people as well as people-driven vehicles in industrial, commercial and residential areas.

The tests described in DIN/TS 18194 determine the resistance to static and dynamic loads as well as to manual attack. The main criterion for failure is to reach a passable opening.

A successful examination in combination with a certification is the basis for the manufacturer's inclusion in the KPK list „Tested and certified burglar-resistant doors / gates” of the state criminal police. Ift Rosenheim offers all the tests and certification mentioned above from a single source, thus creating synergies for the manufacturers.
